Summer Reading Kickoff Event

June 29 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Come help us celebrate the start of our summer reading fun! From 12:30-2pm come scoop your own Galaxy Ice Cream and get all your summer reading materials! The first 10 new patrons get their own Barnet library book bags! Everyone that comes to an event for summer reading gets their name in "reading rocket" for a raffle drawing and all kids get a scratch-off ticket for a prize from the prize buckets. Remember, READING IS FOR FUN!

Blast Off! Rocket Making event

Back by popular demand, come make a soda bottle rocket and watch them blast off into the sky with local Fairbanks Museum Science Educator, Bobby Farlice-Rubio. Bobby will lead us through some space trivia while you construct and decorate your very own rocket. We will count down till blast off together. Due to air space constraints in the Village, this event will be held in the circle at Barnet School.

Make your own Crankie Box

What is a crankie box? Come see an example at the library, but really it is a way of telling a story by drawing pictures along a strip of paper and winding it around itself.
